Pastor Davis Ochieno Juma

Meet Davis Ochieno Juma. He is the lead Pastor and founder of Gospel Light Evangelical Missions. Davis and his wife Carolyne have six biological children and have adopted over 30 orphans who are between the ages of 4 to 17.

Most of the orphans are between the ages of 4 to 13 and have been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS.

Davis started taking care of orphans in 2012. Although he didn’t have much, he made up his mind. He decided to be a father to the fatherless by providing shelter, food and most of all love to orphan children who were abandoned by their families.

Davis supports himself and his large family with the proceeds of farming and donations. The money is then used to pay for food, clothes, school fees, medicine and whatever else is needed.

Davis lives in Busia county where floods are very frequent after the banks of the river Nzoia break. During the floods, people have to be displaced and live in makeshift hous-es. Whenever floods occur, Davis mobilises a team of young men and women with whom he builds temporary shelters for the flood victims.

The temporary houses are mainly made from branches, thick pieces of wood, sheets and whatever material they can find.

During those floods Davis and his team go from house to house to ask for food for the flood victims. When they receive money donations they buy mosquito nets, malaria drugs, clothes, blankets and other necessities for the flood victims who lost everything they possessed.

Thank you for considering supporting Davis whose vision is to give children of Kenya a brighter future.
